Realizing how spoiled I am

Melanie's in Nashville for the weekend and once again I realize how spoiled I really am. I try not to take it for granted, but I know that I do a little. It is rare when one finds that certain someone who loves you for who you are and not who they want you to be. One who feels pain when you feel pain and only wants it to go away. Needless to say I have found that certain someone. On top of all this she's a gourmet cook who always makes sure I have meals to eat whether she's here or in Nashville. I definitely won the lottery with her.

And the hit just keep on coming

So how bad does it get when you hurt yourself sleeping??!!! The other morning Mike rolls over and feels a pop and then some seering pain in his left shoulder. Keep in mind he's still recovering from surgery on his right shoulder. Anyhow, he shrugs it off and continues with his day. So he brings it up to his PT guy, Elmer, who runs a battery of tests, and if things are bad enough, he thinks Mike might have torn his rotator cuff. Murphy's Law at work here. Mike just saw Dr. Jobe last Thursday and determined that the left shoulder could wait to be repaired, but no it's looking like probably not. Things have got to get better. He's doing everything that he can, but it appears that he's paying now for all the fun times he had as a kid and younger adult. Let this be a lesson to you little ones out there.

Talk about painful

Today Mike and an EMG test done to check on his nerve systems. This involved an hour of being "tasered" and poked with a needle. Not a very fun test to say the least. We're hoping that this will explain the electrical shocks he's been experiencing since his surgery in February. Melanie started her first day as daytime Dean of Students and came open pretty happy with her day.
